Hospitalists provide adult internal medicine inpatient care at Ann Arbor’s Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital.  Hospitalists are physicians working exclusively in hospitals, rather than dividing their time between a medical center and a private practice. Our Hospitalist Program was initiated in response to healthcare’s growing emphasis on maintaining quality hospital care while containing patient care costs.  Our Hospitalists are more readily available to our practice's hospitalized patients for urgent and emergent situations, because they are IN the hospital all day.  We also run a service which ensures that there is a physician in the hospital 24 hrs a day to respond to our patients' urgent needs.
